Page history last edited by PBworks 16 years, 10 months ago

Xandros has made it very easy to change, adjust and configure your screen-saver, so if you are tired of watching Xandros Makes Linux Work For You

    • floating across your screen, Here's how choose from a number of other styles. Right click on an empty spot on your desktop, and select Properties from the drop-down menu. The Display Properties panel will open. Click the Screen Saver icon in the left panel, as shown below.

In the Screen Saver list, top center, select a candidate that sounds interesting, and watch the preview in the small monitor on the right. If you like what you see, you can click the Test button to show your selection full-screen. Just click the mouse or type any key to exit the test. In the bottom section, you can set the delay before the screen saver is displayed, andwhether or not a password is required to stop it. You can also make the screen saver "aware of power management", presumably so it will stop running when your monitor automatically shuts down, to save wear and tear on your cpu. Clicking the Setup button opens the setup control with several tabs. Here you can configure exactly how the screen

saver displays. The options available here will vary depending on the type of screen saver selected. Experiment. Try different combinations of settings until you find just the one you want.

When you like what you see, click OK in the Setup Screen Saver panel, then click Apply and OK in the Display Properties panel. That's it. Your new screen saver is good to go. papabearak**
